Visit Old Traditional Building in Fushimi Sake District
Fushimi Yume Hyaku Shu is a one of the local spots to visit, which building used to be Gekkeikan Headquarters about 100 years ago in the Taisho Era. Besides various products made in Fushimi sake district, the shop inside has 100 different brands of refined sake.
There is of course a cafe space for you to feel relaxed. As well as sake tastings, you have choices of their original menus – coffee made with water for producing sake and sake sweets at the cafe. A must try here is the ice cream with putting aged sake on the top. It will be served in ‘masu’ a square cup traditionally used for drinking sake in Japan. You may be surprised that rich vanilla ice cream and aged sake are a good pairing.
Fushimi Yume Hyaku Shu is in the middle of tourist sites in Fushimi Sake District. Though we do pass by this little spot during our sake tour KYOTO INSIDER SAKE EXPERIENCE, it’s worth going in before or after the tour to take a break and feel back in the old time in Fushimi, Kyoto.
