Tour Report Kyoto Insider Sake Experience 23/9/2019

Hello, every one! The weather has been warm and sunny in Kyoto. Autumn is definitely great season to go out for sake brewery in Fushimi Kyoto. Today as alway we had 3 hour sake tour with guests from UK, Switzerland, Germany and France.

As we always say in this page, Fushimi is the second largest sake producing area in Japan. We asked ‘Can you guess any reasons?’ to our guests.
The reason why is because, “water”. Fushimi’s mild taste water has been giving the wealth to local people and breweries for a long time.

As you can see on this picture, many local people line up to get pure natural water. Surprisingly, it’s free water! Anyone can get and bring back this water home if you bring some empty bottles with you. Also, you can try to drink another pure natural water in Fushimi at the brewery that we go during the sake tour.

The brewery is very near to this place of the picture. However, the taste of water is different. If the location is different, also the taste of water changes. This is also the interesting part of ingredient of making alcohol. Small thing makes a big difference. It’s like graphs of making wine, isn’t it? I’m sure if you are interested in wine making processes, you’ll have a great time in our sake tour.

Thank you all for sharing a good time!
